24.  Praised Jimmy Carter's trip to Gaza where he sided with terrorist Hamas against Israel.

25.  Nationalized General Motors and Chrysler while turning shareholder control over to the unions and freezing out retired investors who owned their bonds.  Committed unlimited taxpayer billions in the process.

26.  Passed a huge energy tax in the House that will make American industry even less competitive while costing homeowners thousands per year.

27.  Announced nationalized health care "reform" that will strip seniors of their Medicare, cut pay of physicians, increase taxes yet another $1 trillion, and put everyone on rationed care with government bureaucrats deciding who gets care and who doesn't.

Bloomberg:  Daschle says, "Health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them," while former Colorado Governor Richard Lamm says seniors have "a duty to die."

If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that the President, Senators and Congressmen have their own special gold plated health care plan which is guaranteed the remainder of their lives and they are not subject to this new law if they pass it.

Please use the power of the Internet to get this message out. Talk it up at the grassroots level.  We have an election coming up in one year and four months where we can reverse the dangerous direction of the Obama administration and its allies.

If you disagree - do nothing.

The 2010 Master have been cancelled.....The winner was already decided!! Yet another accomplishment!!!

A History lesson of what needs to take place

8/14/09

Friends,

I have been off the blogging for a while, but I am still here watching and reading. E-mailing the Whitehouse and congress and being more involved with our church.

I am 42 years old and now realize, I will never have the opportunity to retire. The 401k funds that I have, will find a way to “disappear”. For those who can retire….successfully, do it now, don’t wait.

World Governments LOVE unarmed peasants, and we are headed there. I stress again the impact of our youth. If we ever want revive and repair the damage done to our society, culture, and way of life, we must do it with the younger generation. They have parents and grandparents, they can see the damage, it is up to us to tell them the truth, and see thru the lies. Have you been to Borders lately and seen all the illustrated  Obama books for kids?? Seen any kids books on God or conservatism?  Don’t give up on em, but we are fighting a losing battle trying to convert the older generation.

History has shown, that if we humble ourselves and seek repentance with God, miracles happen. In 1746, at time when early America fell away from God, and bars surfaced up in every corner it seemed, and with Europe monopolizing and trampling religious freedom, God opened an asylum for his oppressed people exactly at the right time they needed it. It was a time for revivals, a time for Jonathan Edwards and George Whitfield, and for Thomas Prince. Several times before, the French had sailed across the ocean and tried take back their claim to the land, and were driven back by adverse winds and shipwrecked at sea. This time in 1746 under Duke D’Anville, 40 war ships were sent to America. The intent was to destroy New England sailing from Nova Scotia. Apprised of their danger the people had appointed a day of fasting and prayer, to be observed in all the churches. On a clear day, a wind arose and turned in to a tempest and a greater part of the fleet was destroyed. The Duke and principle General committed suicide, many died with disease and thousands drowned. In all more than 70 ships total France had sent over, and maybe 3 returned to tell of the lost cause. God’s timing was flawless!

In 1940, England faced a similar situation, with much of the country naïve about Hitler, the battle of Britain and Dunkirk begins. A half a million French and English soldiers were huddled at Dunkirk, and Hitlers armored divisions and Luftwaffe were 15 miles away. Things looked bleak for the Allies. On May 23, numerous political leaders including new Prime Minister Winston Churchill and King George VI, issued a call for a National day of prayer to be held Sunday May 26. From may 24th 1940-June 1 1940, the Germans were content to shell and bomb Dunkirk from the air from a distance. Just 24 hours after the prayer, Adolph Hitler ordered his armies to halt, to the surprise and dismay of even his own generals. The Armies remained largely in place even until early June, and in all, 336,000 men found their way to safety in the British Isles, and the Nazi’s never set foot, when victory was clearly in their grasp. Did Hitler not want to take unnecessary losses in the final battle. Did he really want to give Churchill a sporting chance? Did the channel freeze over? It is because of God’s will, and again his timing was flawless!! Prayer is effective, do not let the enemy let you believe otherwise. These are just two examples in history. We know what needs to happen here, let us not forget Jonah and Nineveh……even you Mr. President can not argue history. I’m sure you would try to change it though.

I am the Lord, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord do all these things. Isaiah 45:6-7

Brought to you by……The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Also the Buy America Act, (this was issued back in 1933) so it is not really new. More than ever before we are trying to “keep it in America” Our Jobs, our products, our oil????? Just a thought. Trying to create new jobs, making them with American Made Products. “Project funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act”, the sign reads on I-25 in Denver, with Governor Ritter’s name on it. So, with the State in a “Hiring Freeze”, with the exception of the Public Health sector, where are the workers from these “temporary jobs”??? Making State employees take furlough days, I doubt they creating new positions. This nice new renovated highway also was made with tar that contains foreign oil in it….makes sense to me. I realize more jobs have been created in other areas, not just construction……but are they all permanent positions? It is unclear, and no one is reporting that.

I am proud to be an American, I do want to keep things in America, with American products but, sometimes we do not offer or produce the best, and it is our own fault for letting it get that way. I think if our Government was serious about all this hullabulloo, we would stop rewarding bad habits with bail-outs, where TRUE CHANGE is needed. Drill for our own oil (keep it in America), and if you want to produce….remove the noose!! Lighten up on all the restrictions and penalties on Manufacturer facilities making American products. I will mention that competition for the lowest priced product by the manufacturer…along with some greed, will cause “the overseas push for a cheaper product”. What are we doing to keep the products here?? If the people are used to paying .25 for a “widget”, and it will cost the manufacturer now .27 to produce said widget domestically in the USA, do really believe the manufacturer will take a “loss”? or will they raise the price of the widget 10 cents? I personally would not mind too much, an increase as long as the product offering was proven SUPERIOR, than the imported one. A Quality control program, must happen. This means we have to be willing to go to work, to get the job done and stop relying on others to supply all of our needs. That statement goes against the “big government” we will supply all your needs message the President O bortion is passing around.

On commercial jobs some of the widgets these contractors are looking for just are not made in America. I work for a manufacturer….I see this daily. Especially, on military base renovations. To qualify for Buy America, the product must be 51% made in USA, Canada or Mexico, a half arsed compliance….so 51% has been everybody’s goal to meet, not 100%. You can have 51% of the product on hand, and the 49% come in from China, and now we are “Assembled in the USA”. There are ways around every issue, because there are perks, green points, Leed points, benefits, or whatever you will call them, issued by the Government, the State, or governing project authority for doing so it does not happen if they are not in compliance. That is why I mentioned a nice new road that is made tar containing foreign oil. Who is in charge here???

Once upon a time, a manufacturer goes against the norm and takes some of the product they produce, offshore, all the while offering a domestic alternative. The competition see this and does the same. Today the imported offshore product is the norm, with little or no Domestic alternative, and we are all scrambling to get it produced back at home….at what cost? We all have to be united on the same page….what if this is just a passing phase and they all throw in towel midway thru it all, and just give up?? The most important individual is the consumer….lets not forget that!!

Margin

Thank You to Dr Richard Swenson for sharing these points, that I would like to share with you. I have been off for a while battling the forces of evil, to the point that my office now has a new internet policy. I realize that with all that is going on in this country, that we all suffer from an Overload Epidemic. Overload is the opposite of margin. -
1 : the part of a page or sheet outside the main body of printed or written matter
2 : the outside limit and adjoining surface of something : edge <at the margin of the woods> <continental margin>
3 a : a spare amount or measure or degree allowed or given for contingencies or special situations <left no margin for error> b(1) : a bare minimum below which or an extreme limit beyond which something becomes impossible or is no longer desirable <on the margin of good taste> (2) : the limit below which economic activity cannot be continued under normal conditions c : an area, state, or condition excluded from or existing outside the mainstream.     measure or degree of difference <the bill passed by a one-vote margin
In the 1960'sthey predicted that our generation would be bored.....not exhausted. Everywhere you look and read about...everyone works so hard and so long, they are exhausted and stresses out. It is a way of life, or part of it. I too have fallen victim of this. So where does all this come from? PROGRESS.....they missed this in the 60's. I am not knocking technology but....technology is wonderful except when it isnt.

Progress leads to more. Today's definition of happiness is "how can I get more?". Look at all of the choices offered on just about anything. Take cereal for instance, there must be over 300 now. Technology offers more complexity, how do you set the time on the DVD player? I have a password for over 30 applications I use daily. More E-mail, More work,More debt,More possessions,More versions of TV, More cell phones....More.....More ......More. Get the picture? Phillipians 4:13 states I can do all things thru Christ that strengthens me. But does this mean that we can do it all...nonstop without rest? Nay...we can do only things that GOD wants us to do. We have limits.

If you are overloaded, you are out of balance, and will display symptoms of : Apathy, withdrawal, depression, anger, frustration, make mistakes, abnormal sleep, irritibility, chaos, disorganization. You will take risks, and be fatigued. You will be too busy to pray, and your personal relationships will suffer and be withdrawen.

Margin is the solution and is not really mentioned in the Bible. With all of this technology happening, we did this to ourselves. God created us, we did not create him. To collect margin, we need a space between our limits....a buffer zone.

1. Pay Attention - dont be passive, this will solve nothing. Dont just listen...do what scripture tells you to do. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
2.Technology - There must be an on and off switch. Discern them, use them wisely, when you use it, dont let it use you.
3. Learn to say NO, to non priorities. Titus 2:11-13 , For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly in this present age. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
4. Slow the Pace-There is an old woodshop saying "measure twice, cut once", mistakes happen, and if you are running around 100 MPH, you will miss what God wants you to do. Jesus will never be in a hurry. Mark 6:30-32, And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus and told him all things, both what they had done andwhat they had taught. And he said unto them, Come aside into a desert place, and come rest awhile for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. and they departed into a desert place by boat. Our God is a Pro-Rest God. Take time off.
5. Practice Smplicity - Do not be hindered by substance....simplicity is hard and takes discipline.Hebrews 12:1, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
6.Cultivate Contentment - This goes hand in hand with Practice simplicity.I Timothy 6:6, But Godliness with contenment is great gain.Be content with what you have, and know that God will never leave us or forsake us. The poor man is rich with it, anf the rich man is poor without it.
7.Relationships - Nourish them....dont let the world take these away from you.Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth, for he hath not another to help him up.Again, if two lie together, then they have heat, but how can one warm up alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withatand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
8.Practice Priorities- Seek first the kindom of God, Jesus is our friend, and the wounds he suffered, I put there. Thank him daily for that. This is a big theme of Revelations 5.Thank him for the things he has done for you in the past, how he brought you thru it, answered your prayer, gave his provision, spared you from injury or death. Reflect on these specifically, if you do not....your faith will never be rooted in him and will never be strong.

I have been out of the loop a while...hope to be by all of your posts soon!!! God Bless all!!

Their Children

As a follow up to a blog I wrote before:

http://jasonhudson.blogtownhall.com/2008/11/06/our_children.thtml

I saw an article bt World Net Daily on "Why 2 out of 3 young people are leaving the church" If you read my other blog above, that answer is evident.

It all starts with youth.Knowing that foolishess is a Biblical term...it does not mean stupididy or ridicule like todays standards view it as, but it really means "One who is defficient in judgement, sense, or understanding. Those that are naive to God's plan teach their children foolishness, whether they know it or not.Children will believe what they are taught, good or bad.

The Hitlerjugend was an organization of the Nazi's youth movement, one emphsis was to instill the motavation that they recv when they are fighting for the 3rd Reich. Weapons training, assault tactics, Arianism all wrapped up and indoctrinated with Ani-Semitism. From ages 10 on up were tought these ways in the Nazi regime.

The Communist youth league of China, is focused at the High School and Colligiate level.
Comminist youth groups exist all over the world.

Al-Qaida and other terror groups recriut young boys, with propoganda and the Quran.

So, am I comparing the raising of childeren of those that do not follow God's plan to those above????
No....but I will say this, The internet has got our children and so does the TV. Is it possible that they could influence children in a bad way?

Obama won the Presidency that targeted in his campaign.....you guessed it, the Youth. What I imply. is just how powerful...and dangerous at the same time, these young minds could be, minds that can easiliy swayed, minds that can be pursuaded, minds that can be exploited and minds that are inexperienced in the ways and Truths & Evils of this planet.

The young people are leaving the church because we are letting them leave. Are we failing in our education process? Our Schools sometimes have agendas....Watch out for school programs with innocent-sounding titles like “family diversity,” “safe schools” or “tolerance.”  Many of these programs contain homosexuality components. By categorizing pro-gay teaching within a subject like “family diversity” or “social justice,” school officials often try to skirt parental control. There’s a new book cropping up in elementary classrooms called "Uncle Bobby’s Wedding." For kids as young as 4, the book shows two male guinea pigs wearing bow ties, celebrating their "wedding." Children will also learn from everything and everyone around them....teachers..other children. We can not always control our childrens environment. Know your values.....you can not teach ,what you yourself do not know.

Discernment

The quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure.Showing insight and understanding. To recognize or identify as separate and distinct .To see or understand the difference.

Learn to Discern, this is lacking in the body of Christ today. I Thessalonians 5, is a good example of discernment.
Vs 19-22:
Stop stifling the spirit, do not put out the fire. (I Thessalonians 5:19-22), and stop questioning prophesies---listen to them. Sort good from evil- -and use the Bible as the discerning factor....search the word.

Psalms 119: Maginfiy the Divine Law and make it honorable. This is what God expects of us.

So, in order to sort out truth from those that call evil good, test their words, statements as follows:

1. Theological Test - Does it contradict the Gospel?
2. Emphasis Test - Does it exhalt Jesus?
3. Morality Test - Does it make a person in the likeness of Jesus or not?
4.Accuracy Test - Does it coincide with the Gospel...how is the timing as well?

I John 4:1-6, shows us exactly that.

Only by his Spirit, can we discern what is right or wrong.Ask the Lord for his Holy Spirit, he is your conscience. If there was no God, the very concept of Good and Evil would be just be an opinion, and the way our modern day world lives, why would anyone stand up for what is determined "Good"?

The World can not Discern Gods will or standards."...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians2:13.

God sends us his Holy Spirit, for he is with us always....and he always has been. Thru good and bad, thick and thin. He sypathizes with us...he is a God of emotions. Do not chase him away.
God is the author of our lives, and is in the business of writing good stories. We co-author this life with him, and there may be a chapter or two that we are not proud of, but none the less.....part of this "book". He has a devine plan, and he uses people and experiences to accomplish this. What makes a great story is our expectiations/our dreams -vs- cruel reality.

God writes our story not just for our own benefit for us but, to also benefit others through our story because it emphasizes HIS story.

Introducing the National Nonsensical Tax Bill 2009

                                          June 5, 2009

United States Senate Washington D.C. 20001

                                                                         National Nonsensical Tax Bill 2009

Ladies and Gentleman of the United States of America, we The United States Senate are proud to introduce to you this new tax bill that will implement great things for the future of our country. Rest assured the generation of these new funds will be a benefit for you and yours for years to come. Not only will you be padding our wallets, but you will be helping our ailing economy as well. Your funds will bring about grants in studies such as, The family life of the Colorado Potato Beetle(Leptinotarsa decemlineata), have they ever had divorces, or do they have same sex unions? Also Nancy needs a new Jet Plane. Great things are ahead of us peasants......I mean distinguished people... The plan is broken down as follows:

Window Glance tax- all employed individuals that are fortunate enough to have a window in their cubicle or office, will be charged a modest 0.5 cents for every look. This will make things a little more fair for those who do not have windows. WE WILL BE WATCHING YOU.

Excessive Ear Wax Tax- All Q-tips will be disposed of in plastic bags, and are to be picked up and examined by our new "Q" team weekly. Since ear wax is a hazard to the environment and basically it's just flat out gross, there will be a..03 cent per tip tax imposed.

Verbal Communication of the phrase "UHHH" tax - This phrase will be imposed a .06 cent per utterance, as this phrase or sound, or what ever you call it makes us sound Inbredish and brings about a modern day "Stone Age" of classic cro magnon caveman gibberish. If we seem serious here....we are.

Blades of Grass tax - All homeowners are entitled up to 365,857 blades of grass. All Commercial property owners are entitled up to 365,858.(Sucks to be you , you capitlalistic icons. WE WILL OWN YOU ONE DAY. Our satillites keep accurate numbers, no need to count. Exceeding this total will impose a 0.2 cent per blade fee. If this seem excessive to you...cry me a river. At which point we will implement a "tear" tax. See 2010 propositions.

The Sneeze Tax - All individuals are allocated to 3 sneezes per day.Since you never know what you get in your hankie, we will impose a .04 cent for any sneezing after that point.

Excessive "Bling" tax - All individuals are permitted : 1 chain (any color), 1 set of earings(any style), two rings(weddings dont mean much to us, so we will allow you two for whatever reason) 1 body piercing (any location). We believe this will cut down on violence as well as make us not look so rich and capitalistic, and make us look more.....civilized. Exceeding this will impose a .06 cent per item tax. NBA players and Rap Stars watch out.

Prayer Tax- Individuals that do this, will be broken down as follows: praying to Allah,Bhudda or any other "supreme being" will impose a .3 cent tax for doing so. Praying to Jehovah or the God of Israel will impose a $1.50 fee per prayer, $2.50 per individual in a "group" and or "assembly", and a $3.00 per individual in said group or assembly with "Raised Hands" This "speaking of the tounges" is expressively forbidden and will be punishable by $2000.00 for 1st offense, $5000.00 for the 2nd. Death for the 3rd. Silly Christians can you not see will replace your God? San Diego failed....we will succede, nationally. Saying aloud " Man...I hope I do not get caught Stealing, Forging or ________, fill in the blank, doing this, Is NOT a prayer, in fact this behavior is encouraged and will be rewarded. Maybe an Administrative position.

GM Non- Compliancy tax - All individuals will have 1 year from the implementaiton of this bill into law to become GM Compliant, and own NOTHING but GM made products and services. After all these are vehicles and services we have made "affordable" and "pepole friendly" for your use, and you will use them.Failure to do so will cost you $35.00 a month until you are in compliance Comrade.

That will bring this years 2009 proposed list of tax bills to a close, we do ever so sincerely thank for you for your time in reading these, and we just know you will do the correct thing in voting on these in 2010, when these all pass with flying rainbow colors.
If you have any questions, please feel free in NOT contacting us. We will contact you, do not be too concerned. We will schedule a "cleansing" appointment...you will feel no pain, and come out feeling refreshed.

We bestow upon you Peace, Love an good fortune upon you and your families.Be it known that we are concerned about YOUR every well being, and will take care of your every need...rest assured.

Love Hugs and Kisses to you All !!!!

                                                                                Joseph Biden
                                                                                Nancy Pelosi
And the rest of your esteemed colleages at the US Senate team!!!!

Government Motor Company

Cost of 2009 Chrysler Town and Country.................... $27,150

Cost of the1st Government GM Bail out.................. $50  Billion in loans........

The US Government with 60% majority ownership of GM......SENSELESS !!!!

Do Not ever buy a GM product ever again. or at least until a Republican president can put this fiasco to rest.
Buy Ford....Ford is now forced with extinction with this move and is still Capitalist, unless we the people act and do not buy GM products.

Our government bailed them out with our money....and we will be paying for it again with this move.

GM should have had a bancruptcy that mandated a change in ownership from day one. Was all of this planned?????
Makes you wonder.

What is the escape policy for goverment denationalization?? How do we know taxpayers will not be hung out for more money. I do not think we can ever know. This is one of the most idiotic forms of "Americanized Socialism" yet. Hope the OnStar button still works for ya.....hope you dont need a trade in. We should really have some good prices on cars with Government Motors now. How about a buy one get one free sale.

Ask England about government dabbling in the automotive industry.
British Motor Holdings Ltd (BMH) was a British motor company created in an attempt to halt the decline in Britain's manufacturing base in the 1960s. The Wilson Labour Government remedy for an ailing industry was to premote more mergers. It still struggled and became(merged...go figure) into,British Leyand Motor Corporation LTD. Partially Nationalized in 1975.With all the mergers, chaos arose along with confusion and competing against themselves. The Company lost track on how to do business. IT FAILED!!
This too must fail, and should...we the people must not allow the government to make money on this deal,or healthcare will be next, since this was a great achievement of the government to sucessfully save the automobile industry. Just look what we can do.

Before they get their mitts on any other nationalization of industry, they need to put up or shut up, and proove that anything they control can succeed....something...anything...name just one thing........NOTHING!!!
Nothing ever run by government nationalization has ever worked, with the exception of Nationally Implemented Communism and Socialism.
How will we ever recover from somthing like this? Our 3 branches of Government are NOT. They all serve the chosen one. Where does it all end??
If Those on the left truly love America, Why then, Transform it????????????

LIFE MAY NOT BE THE PARTY WE HOPED FOR BUT WHILE WERE HERE WE SHOULD DANCE.

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong!   If you found this to be 'Food for thought' send to as many as you think will be enlightened as I hope you were.

My Letter to the Denver Post

It is not surprising that Colorado has gone a little "Lefty Loopy" lately...(hey, I like that...LLLL).
All states have their moments. In one my petitions I usually sign 6 or 7 a day, this one got fowarded to the Denver Post about Colorado Senate Bill 88, that would give same sex partners health benefits to state employess at our expense. Just the beginning if you ask me...

Here it is as follows....Reporting in from the Little Lefty Loopy State your pal , Jason

Marriage is between a man and a woman
by on March 23, 2009

Re: “Legislature 2009; Still kicking,” March 8 Denver & The West.

Senate Bill 88 would extend health care benefits to state-employed domestic partners, elevating same-sex relationships to the status of married couples.

Two years ago, Colorado citizens defeated a domestic partnership referendum and amended the constitution to define marriage as only between one man and one woman. Senate Bill 88 seeks to force taxpayers against their wishes to provide financial support that would encourage same-sex relationships.

The point is, since the dawn of time, marriage has been between a man and a woman. Always should be. Forcing taxpayers to “put in” to a system they do not feel is correct is wrong.
I would encourage you to drop this bill. There is a right way of doing things, and a wrong way.
This is the latter.

Jason Hudson, Broomfield

This letter was published in the March 23rd edition.

  1. The writer is actually mistaken. According to the bible (which is the main source of reasoning against gay marriage) Polygamy was quite common.

    Comment by Jennifer — March 23, 2009 @ 4:53 am

  2. Mr. Hudson is so right.

It is obvious by looking at the design of man and woman’s bodies that marriage is intended to be between only a man and a woman. And God has given us very clear instruction in the Bible that this is His intent and purpose.

But a small group of radical homosexual activists keep trying to take society down the dangerous road of other experimentations.

It’s time for us to just say NO.

    Comment by bellle — March 23, 2009 @ 5:13 am

  3. Wow. There are so many unsupported opinions and claims in this letter, it’s difficult to know where to begin in response.

First, awarding health care coverage to domestic partners does not “elevate same-sex relationships to the status of married couples”. What it does do is make the system of coverage fair to all state employees. At last. There are still over a thousand specific benefits that married couples receive that are denied to same-sex couples (and, by the way, “domestic partner” doesn’t always mean same-sex).

“Senate Bill 88 seeks to force taxpayers against their wishes to provide financial support that would encourage same-sex relationships.” How do you know this? Why can’t someone who supports the idea of marriage=man+woman also want to see fairness in the health care realm? And just because my boyfriend (for example) works for the state isn’t enough to “encourage” a same-sex relationship with him for me. Gotta be more than that.

“Since the dawn of time” (spare me the cliche) “marriage has been between a man and a woman…Always should be.” According to whom? You? Your church? Since when does your church’s dogma dictate to the state? Marriage is a civil ceremony, a legal contract recognized by the state and (optionally!) sanctioned by a church. Being “married” has nothing to do with any authority making a “should be” pronouncement.

“Forcing taxpayers to ‘put in’ to a system they do not feel is correct is wrong.” So do we now allow Libertarians to keep their tax dollars because they feel it’s “wrong”?

“There is a right was of doing things, and a wrong way.” Again, according to whom? And why is it wrong to make workplace benefits more fair?

    Comment by TomFromTheNews — March 23, 2009 @ 5:15 am

  4. I don’t think that anyone who views genitalia as a more important qualification for marriage than love, commitment and fidelity has any understanding of what marriage really is. I don’t believe such people value marriage properly, and I believe they denigrate the institution.
Therefore, I don’t want my taxes to support your marriage. Please divorce your “wife” immediately, or if not married, refrain from entering into what you call a “marriage.” (Marriage should only be between two people who have a proper understanding of and value for the institution, after all.) I shouldn’t have to “put in” to a system I think is wrong.
Oh, what’s that? You don’t think I should have any say over your personal choice of spouse, and you think you deserve the same benefits as anyone else who chooses to marry, even though your choice is wrong and perverted in my eyes?
Well, maybe gay people are of the same mind in that. And maybe they have just about as much justice on their side as you do.

    Comment by Katja — March 23, 2009 @ 6:01 am

  5. “Forcing taxpayers to “put in” to a system they do not feel is correct is wrong.”

Based upon this logic, gays should not be forced to pay property and other taxes used to fund schools, and subsidize other benefits afforded married, straight couples.

    Comment by LJ — March 23, 2009 @ 6:17 am

  6. More uninformed, regurgitated rhetoric to defend an elitist attitude that excludes fellow citizens from equality.

“It’s always been done this way”, is no more an excuse to explain a stand on an issue than ignorance of the law is an excuse for breaking it.

Contrary to Mr. Hudson’s unoriginal, and again uninformed assertion, same sex relationships have been recognized in various cultures and eras through human history.

Marriage has been in a constant state of evolution throughout that history.

For most of it, marriage was primarily a arrangement to create political and/or financial alliances between families.

It’s only been in the last 150 years or so that marriage for love became more common. Even then the same societal prejudices that gays face today played a role in excluding certain people from entering into marriage because they were different races, different social classes, etc.

Mr. Hudson and people who believe as he do are on the wrong side of history and humanity on this issue. Right now he believes that he walks the moral high ground on this issue but some day in the not too distant future people, perhaps his own children, will wonder how he and people like him could ever think they had the right to vote upon or deny equality to their fellow citizens.

Look at how many of us today wonder how our parents and grandparents abided by or particapated in forcing black Americans to ride in the backs of buses, women being denied educations and jobs because they were women, and entire families being incarcerated in internment camps because they were of Japanese ancestry.

Their response was “well, that’s just the way things were then and how it had always been done”.

Fortunately there were enough people who refused to accept that injustices and inequities were just a way of life…and there still are today.

Mr. Hudson obviously isn’t one of them.

  7. You should really check your facts. Until christians forcibly destroyed and suppressed all other western religions, polyamory was the norm. The greeks even had special provisions (especially the spartans) that men could marry men. In the course of human history, the idea of one man and one woman is relatively recent, and goes against the genetic nature of the beast. But, I’ll bet that you are also a young earth creationist, and belive that human kind, and the earth, are only 6000 years old, so all paleo anthropology and archeology is just a waste of time.

    Comment by lyle — March 23, 2009 @ 7:34 am

  8. A few things to address on this one:

    1. Could it be that the “taxpayers” referenced here include (drumroll, please) those same people who seek the benefits?

    2. Would it be reasonable to say that, if not everyone can benefit from the benefits, no one should?

    3. Mr. Hudson doesn’t himself bring it up, but what is the reason for excluding these couples from the benefits? Is it because it would create an undue burden on the system, or — sadly — because a certain religious segment of the population is so concerned about its own marriages, it must find a scapegoat to share the misery? What is it, exactly, that makes you think you’re entitled to marriage/benefits when others aren’t?

If your reasoning behind denying these benefits to same-sex couples is religious-based, it has no place in the state’s discussions around whether to pass this bill or not. Period. And if you’re thinking marriage — and the related benefits — are defined by religious tenents, think again. Your marriage may be sanctioned in a church, but almost all of us still head down to the county clerk for a license.

Mr. Hudson’s letter is a prime example of what’s wrong with religious cultism. That’s it’s exclusionary to the detriment of others is no surprise, but that makes it no less shameful. Reminds me of a letter I read here maybe five years ago, from an elderly woman who was upset about the prospect of her social security dollars being paid out to homosexual partners who wanted their benefits to go to those partners. With no sense of irony, the elderly woman completely ignored that those same homosexuals pay into social security just like everybody else, and yet…when they die, they have no say about their benefits.

That goes beyond scapegoating. You’re turning an entire group into your own personal pack mules. Shameful.

  9. “The point is, since the dawn of time, marriage has been between a man and a woman”

Since the dawn of time? Does that include all the polygamous relationships that are so revered in the bible?

    Comment by Bob Wigwam — March 23, 2009 @ 7:43 am

  10. I’m fairly certain that Mr. Hudson has no personal knowledge of how sexual relationships were since the dawn of time. But it seems as if, for him, the dawn of time is probably around 6000 years or less when God created it; so my argument here may be useless. But I’ll try.

Homosexuality and bisexuality are much more common in the animal kingdom than the human world. In bonobos, for instance, over 50% of all sexual relationship are between two females. If greater apes engage in homosexuality, then it’s highly possible that their ancestors did. Thus, so did human ancestors. So humans have not been heterogamous since the dawn of time. And there’s no reason to assume that we should be now.

    Comment by Lucanor — March 23, 2009 @ 9:14 am

  11. Belle, Belle, Belle..

Do you not understand that human anatomy and marriage are two very different things?

Yes, it takes the donations of both a male and female to create a baby, but babies were being conceivedlong before anyone ever concieved of the idea of marriage.

As I and other posters have pointed out above, it has taken thousands of years for us to get to where we are today where marriage..at least in western civilization..is a union between two individuals who choose to be together

For most of human history marriage has not been available or a even choice or option for most of the people who have lived. In many countries and cultures throughout the world today women, and even men, do not have the right to choose who they want to marry. Their marriages are arranged, their spouses chosen for them.

Marriage should be about what two people have in their hearts and not what they have between their legs.

And with regards to your remark, “But a small group of radical homosexual activists keep trying to take society down the dangerous road of other experimentations”…

You might want to remember that in his day and time there were alot of people..and leaders…saying the same type of thing about Jesus Christ.

He was a radical activist who was executed for daring to challenge the status quo.

    Comment by zivo24 — March 23, 2009 @ 9:40 am

  12. Here is the deal, humans invented marriage. We can change it to be anything we want at any time.

Think about this, humans also invented clothing. Yet we act as if nudity is a great sin. We don’t use our heads folks, we use our emotions.

When folks find someone to love and marry, we should all be happy for them. What difference does it make to you who oppose this? Can you tell if your neighbors are married or living together? Who made your opinions so important? You did!

    Comment by sharon blackburn — March 23, 2009 @ 9:45 am

  13. Bellle’s logic is a hoot. “It is obvious by looking at the design of man and woman’s bodies that marriage is intended to be between only a man and a woman.” Nice comic relief, bellle. Why not try using your brain once in a while instead of pounding your bible?

    Comment by Romulus — March 23, 2009 @ 9:51 am

  14. Don’t forget, the Bible also sanctioned child brides, arranged marriages, and forcing rape victims to marry their attsacker. And, you guys, Hudson and Belle, think we homosexuals are disgusting?

    Comment by Anonymous — March 23, 2009 @ 12:13 pm

  15. Ok…so you didnt like it. But consider these facts.

The key to our future is our children. They must be taught and instructed in the right way. Being a parent is not easy, there are no parental handbooks for every situation…if there is, it weighs 2000 pounds. Children learn what they live. That means whether you realize it or not, in every action your children are learning from you, especially if they are real young.. What you bring home from work, the football game, you name it. What ever affects you, effects them. It also means if the live with the TV set, they will learn from that as well. Tv is not a parental substitute, it offers one sided points of view………inaccurate, immoral,…. fot the most point, too much here to list. I would say that of the internet as well.
don’t wan’t to preach, but some of the hardships in our country are explained when parents are not parental in their chlidrens lives, every step of the way. Our job in life is not keep and shelter our children forever, but to prepare them for the day that they will leave us, for a life of their own. The education system in our country ,leaves a lot to be desired, with almost a brainwashing of secularism, being taught at younger ages. To me that robs children of their innocence, one of the biggest crimes against our children in this day and age. A child needs both a Mother and a Father image to keep them balanced, and lead a Balanced life.

    Regards

  16. I applaud all you on your knowledge of the Bible and pointing out the details that you see fit, that perhaps may not be accurate. Maybe you should try reading it and compare the real results. You have gone out on a limb to “portray” me as some kind of right wing, holy roller kook in your own minds (narrow). So you must be correct ….right? And yet I still put my pants one one leg at a time and use foul language just like the rest of you.

Bottom line is, You can go thru life telling the truth, or being a liar. There is good in this world, and there is evil. A right and a wrong. If you do not know the difference between the two…so be it, at least admit to that.
REMEMBER…I did not ram this”It’s the end of the world” you must repent or die message down your throat. I do not judge you … I am no better that anyone else, it’s your choice. I will leave the judging up to you.

Car or Horse..which is cheaper??????

With the energy crisis all around us, and the ozone layer evaporating before our eyes, alternative fuels and alternative energy sources are under consideration. Here is an answer to one......re introduce the Horse. Bring it back to our metroplolitan cities.....just take away all the cars.

So which is better? Car or horse?
Spare parts are a no brainer they are easier to get for the horse no matter what year or make....advantage Horse. Gas prices vs feeding and maintaining horse (depending on what make and model), could favor car. However one trip to the mechanic (which is the vet for  horse), could turn the tide. There are several scenarios that play out here.

No Oil changes or filters favors horse, and the horse actually GIVES you an alternative fuel to burn...or study...or whatever. WARNING, if used, this must have a "DO NOT EAT" tag to go along with the "specimen".

I believe "no fault" and uninsured riders insurance would be required. Hopefully drinking and riding would be cut down with RWAIOH's
(Riding While Ability Impaired On Horse)

Care tires usually are replaced around 38,000 miles and require around 38 psi of air for smooth ride. Horses will now have horsehoes replaced 38,000 yards which do not reqire air.....horses expel air...well..this could be an ozone issue as well. They will also come with a 65,000 trot, nose to tail warranty involving the life of horse.

Newer models can be led to water, but can NOT be forced to drink....this could advantage car. Freezing and boiling temps favors car as well. When it comes to a license plate, you could have horse "wear" it around it neck. WARNING 2 : "Do Not attempt to mount on rear area......ever". Custom leather seats are standard on most models of horse. Horse is not a GM product.......big edge in favor of Horse!!!

Traveling at night favors car ....for now.... until the patent for the "horse headlight helmet" hits ( very similar to photo below only with head lights in a helmet form for horse.

This will be a major breakthru in traveling at night for horse...do to arrive late 2009. Getting horse to wear it could pose a problem. A scientific study was done (bailout money). One Biologists theory : "dangling a carrot on a string, in front of horse, with string, has a distinct possibility of moving horse forward, causing horse in mentally concentrating and focusing on obtaining the hovering carrot. Horse study results not yet officiallly released on that. Side Note: This project was almost scrapped when the question of "What about tail lights"? arose. The consensus voted that it was better to have front lights than no lights at all.

The below is an initial failure of combining the two.

In all, after some documentation testing and thru study...I believe Horse has the edge.

Remember you can beat a dead car, and a dog may be man's best friend, but the horse wrote history.

Sell the cow, buy the sheep, but never be without the horse.

The Power of Trust

What is Trust? How would you define Trust?
"A firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, realiablity, justice of another person". The opposite of trust-distrust is suspicion.

When you trust people, you have confidence in them - in their integrity and in their abilities. When you distrust people, you are suspicious of them-of their integrity, their agenda, their capabilities, or their track record. With me so far?? Kinda sounds like our current administarion to me so far.

We constantly have to earn Trust. In a sense, you could boil Trust down to confidence and reliablity. .

I recently read another definition of Trust, which clearly defines the impact of Trust. This brings it down to a personal level and describes why Trust is so hard to earn and so easy to lose. "Trust is knowingly placing one's self in a position of vulnerablity to another".

The Crisis of Trust

Ethics must be strengthened to rebuild peoples Trust and realtionships fall apart as Trust dwindles. Now, who do you Trust? In whom or what? Trust in the Lord with all your heart;do not depend on your own understanding.
Who among you fears the Lord
and obeys his servant?
If you are walking in darkness,
without a ray of light,
trust in the Lord
and rely on your God.

There is great Trust in Faith because it is unseen.....Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you..
