A History lesson of what needs to take place

8/14/09

Friends,

I have been off the blogging for a while, but I am still here watching and reading. E-mailing the Whitehouse and congress and being more involved with our church.

I am 42 years old and now realize, I will never have the opportunity to retire. The 401k funds that I have, will find a way to “disappear”. For those who can retire….successfully, do it now, don’t wait.

World Governments LOVE unarmed peasants, and we are headed there. I stress again the impact of our youth. If we ever want revive and repair the damage done to our society, culture, and way of life, we must do it with the younger generation. They have parents and grandparents, they can see the damage, it is up to us to tell them the truth, and see thru the lies. Have you been to Borders lately and seen all the illustrated  Obama books for kids?? Seen any kids books on God or conservatism?  Don’t give up on em, but we are fighting a losing battle trying to convert the older generation.

History has shown, that if we humble ourselves and seek repentance with God, miracles happen. In 1746, at time when early America fell away from God, and bars surfaced up in every corner it seemed, and with Europe monopolizing and trampling religious freedom, God opened an asylum for his oppressed people exactly at the right time they needed it. It was a time for revivals, a time for Jonathan Edwards and George Whitfield, and for Thomas Prince. Several times before, the French had sailed across the ocean and tried take back their claim to the land, and were driven back by adverse winds and shipwrecked at sea. This time in 1746 under Duke D’Anville, 40 war ships were sent to America. The intent was to destroy New England sailing from Nova Scotia. Apprised of their danger the people had appointed a day of fasting and prayer, to be observed in all the churches. On a clear day, a wind arose and turned in to a tempest and a greater part of the fleet was destroyed. The Duke and principle General committed suicide, many died with disease and thousands drowned. In all more than 70 ships total France had sent over, and maybe 3 returned to tell of the lost cause. God’s timing was flawless!

In 1940, England faced a similar situation, with much of the country naïve about Hitler, the battle of Britain and Dunkirk begins. A half a million French and English soldiers were huddled at Dunkirk, and Hitlers armored divisions and Luftwaffe were 15 miles away. Things looked bleak for the Allies. On May 23, numerous political leaders including new Prime Minister Winston Churchill and King George VI, issued a call for a National day of prayer to be held Sunday May 26. From may 24th 1940-June 1 1940, the Germans were content to shell and bomb Dunkirk from the air from a distance. Just 24 hours after the prayer, Adolph Hitler ordered his armies to halt, to the surprise and dismay of even his own generals. The Armies remained largely in place even until early June, and in all, 336,000 men found their way to safety in the British Isles, and the Nazi’s never set foot, when victory was clearly in their grasp. Did Hitler not want to take unnecessary losses in the final battle. Did he really want to give Churchill a sporting chance? Did the channel freeze over? It is because of God’s will, and again his timing was flawless!! Prayer is effective, do not let the enemy let you believe otherwise. These are just two examples in history. We know what needs to happen here, let us not forget Jonah and Nineveh……even you Mr. President can not argue history. I’m sure you would try to change it though.

I am the Lord, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord do all these things. Isaiah 45:6-7
