With the energy crisis all around us, and the ozone layer evaporating before our eyes, alternative fuels and alternative energy sources are under consideration. Here is an answer to one......re introduce the Horse. Bring it back to our metroplolitan cities.....just take away all the cars.
So which is better? Car or horse?
Spare parts are a no brainer they are easier to get for the horse no matter what year or make....advantage Horse. Gas prices vs feeding and maintaining horse (depending on what make and model), could favor car. However one trip to the mechanic (which is the vet for horse), could turn the tide. There are several scenarios that play out here.
No Oil changes or filters favors horse, and the horse actually GIVES you an alternative fuel to burn...or study...or whatever. WARNING, if used, this must have a "DO NOT EAT" tag to go along with the "specimen".
I believe "no fault" and uninsured riders insurance would be required. Hopefully drinking and riding would be cut down with RWAIOH's
(Riding While Ability Impaired On Horse)
Care tires usually are replaced around 38,000 miles and require around 38 psi of air for smooth ride. Horses will now have horsehoes replaced 38,000 yards which do not reqire air.....horses expel air...well..this could be an ozone issue as well. They will also come with a 65,000 trot, nose to tail warranty involving the life of horse.
Newer models can be led to water, but can NOT be forced to drink....this could advantage car. Freezing and boiling temps favors car as well. When it comes to a license plate, you could have horse "wear" it around it neck. WARNING 2 : "Do Not attempt to mount on rear area......ever". Custom leather seats are standard on most models of horse. Horse is not a GM product.......big edge in favor of Horse!!!
Traveling at night favors car ....for now.... until the patent for the "horse headlight helmet" hits ( very similar to photo below only with head lights in a helmet form for horse.
This will be a major breakthru in traveling at night for horse...do to arrive late 2009. Getting horse to wear it could pose a problem. A scientific study was done (bailout money). One Biologists theory : "dangling a carrot on a string, in front of horse, with string, has a distinct possibility of moving horse forward, causing horse in mentally concentrating and focusing on obtaining the hovering carrot. Horse study results not yet officiallly released on that. Side Note: This project was almost scrapped when the question of "What about tail lights"? arose. The consensus voted that it was better to have front lights than no lights at all.
The below is an initial failure of combining the two.
In all, after some documentation testing and thru study...I believe Horse has the edge.
Remember you can beat a dead car, and a dog may be man's best friend, but the horse wrote history.
Sell the cow, buy the sheep, but never be without the horse.
